Up and coming novelist sensation, McKayla never could have imagined that the medieval Scottish Highlands she wrote about were anything more than pure historical fiction. But little did she know that her Broun ancestry would prove an irresistible pull for one very remarkable highlander.

Colin MacLomain, skilled assassin and fierce warrior, is ready to make right his jaded past. Newly seated as chieftain, he's determined to win over his clan and one true love. But when she's pulled back in time will McKayla, his unknowing best friend, be able to see past his shaded history to the man he's determined to become?

Find out in Mark of the Highlander.

Coming soon - Vow of the Highlander (Book 2) and Wrath of the Highlander (Book 3)

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
Interestingly enough, my readers inspired the continuation of The MacLomain Series. They wanted to know what happened to the characters afterwards so I decided to create The Next Generation and follow the children born of all the original couples. So while we meet many new characters in this five book series, several characters from both The MacLomain Series- Early Years and the original MacLomain Series make guest appearances.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
Mark of the Highlander took about two and a half months to write.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I would have to say getting into that infamous writing zone. There’s nothing quite like leaving this reality behind to enter the world I’m creating.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Editing! I find it a tedious, tiresome process and thank God for gifting others with the talent to do it for a living.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Hmm, the idea of being a famous person for a day is a little scary. Watch out for that Paparazzi! Seriously though, I’d want to be someone funny. I ADORE Melissa McCarthy (comedian from Mike & Molly and several movies). She just seems like an awesome person so it’d be interesting to walk in her shoes for a day.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
You seriously don’t want me to answer this question. Always a bad thing when tinfoil covered items get pushed to the back. *winks*

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
The next four books in The MacLomain Series- Next Generation including Vow of the Highlander (Book 2) coming this June. Wrath of the Highlander (Book 3) coming this autumn. Faith of the Highlander (Book 4) and Plight of the Highlander (Book 5) coming in early 2015.
